What does BYOK mean on Pro?
Bring Your Own Key. Pro unlocks the AI features in the app, and you plug in your own Groq or OpenAI API key for the AI calls — you pay the provider directly, typically pennies a month. Kalam Max will host speech and AI for you later — it is coming soon and is not for sale yet.
When can I subscribe to Max?
Kalam Max is coming soon. Hosted speech-to-text and AI with no API keys is on the roadmap; there is no price or checkout for it yet. Pro remains the paid plan you can subscribe to today.
How does the free trial work?
14 days of the full Pro tier, no credit card. One trial per account, started from your dashboard. When it ends you drop back to Free — nothing is deleted.
Can I switch between Pro and Max?
Not yet. Max is coming soon and cannot be purchased. If you already hold a Max license, you can still downgrade to Pro from the billing page.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep your paid features until the end of the billing period, then drop to Free. All your notes, history, and settings stay on your machine. Re-subscribe whenever.
Do you have team or volume pricing?
Yes. From five seats on Pro you get volume licensing, one invoice, and fleet installers. Max volume seats will be available when Max ships. Individual checkout on this page is per person. See Kalam for Teams.
